Explore Orcas Island’s Doe Bay
Join us on this incredible three-hour tour for a taste of sea kayaking on Orcas Island! We keep our tour groups small, up to eight people, so everyone has a fun and engaging experience with our stunning marine environment. As we paddle around these island waters, keep a lookout for our local wildlife, like seals, porpoises, sea stars, and shorebirds and eagles.
Doe Bay is one of the most beautiful locations on Orcas Island. Along our journey, we enjoy picturesque views of Cypress Island, Mount Baker, and the Pea Pod Rocks. Depending on the tides, our tours head either toward Obstruction Island or Point Lawrence. The minimum age is 15 years old due to potentially strong tidal currents at this location. If you are unsure about your ability to kayak for 2+ hours, please join us at a different tour location on the island.
Shearwater provides stable two-person kayaks, all the necessary kayaking gear, dry storage bags, and professional guide. No kayak experience is required. Our tours include 20-30 minutes of gear adjustment and basic instruction. Expect two and a half hours on the water for this tour.
3-hour tours from Doe Bay are offered from late May through early September, M/W/F/St
Please note that we are guests on Doe Bay Resort’s property. You are welcome at the Doe Bay Store & Café, but do not explore the resort grounds.
Meeting Location: Trips meet at our kayak booth next to the Doe Bay Café
