Orcas Island Kayak Tours

Explore beautiful Deer Harbor and the Wasp Islands on this easy adventure. Sheltered waters provide a great location for experiencing fantastic views and marine wildlife.

Join us for a unique excursion while on Orcas Island in spring 2026. We paddle to a small nature preserve island known for its native wildflowers, and see a variety of wildlife from the kayaks along the way. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy!

late May – early September
Explore the “far side” of Orcas Island on this three-hour kayak adventure. Enjoy views of Mount Baker in the North Cascades, along with a variety of marine wildlife. Strenuous tidal conditions on some dates — call for details.

June – August
Get a taste of sea kayaking while exploring the north shore and Point Doughty on this easy adventure. Near Eastsound Village, this is a great location for experiencing fantastic views into Canada and a variety of marine wildlife. 2-hour kayak tour

late May – early September

Experience magical, twinkling lights from the depths of the Salish Sea! Join us as we paddle after dark through the beautiful phenomenon that is bioluminescence, where every paddle stroke creates a burst of glowing splashes.

End your day on Orcas Island with this special experience, launching just north of Eastsound Village. Our North Shore launch site at Brandt’s Landing is the perfect setting for launching kayaks and watching sunsets over distant islands to the West. These tours are similar to our morning and afternoon 2-hour trips, but catch the quiet “golden hour” on the water. Seals, bald eagles, and harbor porpoise are common sightings on these tours as we paddle towards beautiful Point Doughty and watch the sun set over Canadian islands in the distance.

Pack your favorite picnic lunch and join us for a great day exploring the islands. Kayak to Jones Island state park or other small, uninhabited state park island or isolated beach. We have a long break mid-day to enjoy trails, explore tide pools if the tide is low, or just relax. After the break, we take a new route to loop back to the harbor. 5 Hours

Experience the magic of kayaking by moonlight. These tours are only offered for a few nights around the full moon in summer months. Join us for the next one!

These trips are perfect for families with kids who may want a slower pace than our standard 3-hour kayak tours. Offered at Deer Harbor by request when space is available. Call to book so we know we have the right equipment for the combination of ages.
