Watch the sun set over Canada

We launch in the early evening and spend 2+ hours paddling along the north shore of Orcas Island toward scenic Point Doughty. Harbor seals, bald eagles, and harbor porpoise are common sightings. After exploring the area we watch the sunset from the kayaks before heading back to shore at dusk. A perfect way to end a day on the island.

Shearwater provides 2-person kayaks, all necessary kayaking gear, dry storage bags, basic instruction and guide service. Expect 2 ½ hours on the water after instruction and gear adjustment. We launch from  shore so sport sandals or other footwear that can get wet is best.

No kayaking experience is necessary. However, this is a physical activity and all participants should be prepared to paddle for 2+ hours.

Minimum age: 13 years
Maximum weight: 260 lbs /person; our kayak openings are 35″ x 17″
Maximum height: 6’4″

Meeting Location
Trips meet at Brandt’s Landing Marina. All of our tours include about 30 minutes of gear adjustment and basic instruction.

Cancellations:  You want to go kayaking. We want to take you kayaking. We understand plans sometimes change. Cancellations more than 72 hours in advance of a standard, scheduled tour are fully refunded (more than 5 days in advance for groups of 5+; private and custom tours have a separate policy). Late cancellations or changes, late arrivals, and no-shows are refunded only if we are able to fill the tour.
